There is no denying the impact of the government shutdowns due to a global virus. However, it is during times like this that people make changes in their personal and professional lives. The focus of this article are the changes made in the world of the tax profession. Given the advances in technology and what is known as early adopters of technology, the focus of this article is an example of an early adopter of technology in the tax profession.
As you read this post you will think of more ideas and we welcome your comments on what you experienced as early adopters of technology in the tax profession. Throughout the year, I will write articles about the early adopters of new technology we discovered in the tax profession. You will learn specifically about tax professionals who joined our tax professional platform and the technical gifts they share with clients all over the world.
Prior to the pandemic, I wrote an article about a TaxConnections Member by the name of Olivier Wagner who was the first digital nomad in the tax I came to know in the profession. After working in a public accounting firm, he decided to travel the world and set about to set up his tax practice and see the world at the same time. Olivier was an early adopter of the world of digital nomads and one of the first to open my eyes to what other tax professionals were dreaming about to do. Olivier has not missed a beat as he has a very busy practice that has grown with remote employees all working virtually. Olivier is bilingual in French and English. Read Olivier’s story in the link stated above.
It was Olivier Wagner who led me setting up a Virtual Mailbox so you he can gather mail no matter where you are located around the world.
The best virtual mailbox out there is Traveling Mailbox.
We will continue our Virtual Tax Office series in helping our members set up Virtual Tax Offices around the world.
Stay Tuned…Kat Jennings, TaxConnections CEO
