We have lost all of our business financial records in a tornado. We have no documentation for our business year end tax returns. We have no idea where to begin in preparing our June 30th YE tax return. Can anyone provide us with tax advice on this matter.

First off, I very sorry for your losses and hope the most important things in life, your family and friends, are all OK. The IRS has put in plae taxpayer assistance liasions to help the people in your area. The IRS and state are aware that many people lost everything including all records for the tax year and previous records. There is a link to help at the bottom of my response. here are some tips to try and help you reconstruct as much as you can.
Check with the banks, credit card companies, utilities, vendors, landlords, and payors/payees to see if they can help you in reconstructiong your records.
Check with the IRS and State payroll deposit sites to see if they can provide records of what you have paid in YTD. With these records you can back into the payroll numbers you need.
Your best bet to contact someone with the IRS that is specifically trained and dedicated to helping people in your area is to check with the FEMA center. That is where the IRS Disaster Liasion will be stationed.
