American born, living in Canada for 38 years. Current on filing US taxes, working on 2012 taxes with an extension to October 15th, 2013. I received a small ($500) death benefit when my mother died in California. I received FOUR 1042-S forms showing the withholding on the $500. Various amounts on each form but totalling about $100. I owe no US taxes. How is this withholding returned to me? I cannot find where I enter information for the 1042-S form. Thanks in advance.

The withholdings from the Form 1042-S should be claimed on Line 62 of Form 1040 (along with the other W-2 withholdings).

Hope this helps.
