Mike is a Partner with TaxOps, LLC. Mike’s professional emphasis is primarily on income tax consulting and compliance. He has extensive experience in Corporate and Partnership taxation and has consulted on a wide range of issues including accounting for income taxes (ASC740), merger and acquisition, debt restructuring, accounting methods, issues specific to public companies as well as private equity firms and their portfolio companies. He has represented several clients in IRS and state and local tax controversies. He has worked on clients ranging from private equity groups / investment companies and their portfolio companies to multi-national Fortune 500 companies. In addition, he has significant experience in outsourcing the tax department function for public and private companies, working with their external auditors and consulting with numerous companies to optimize internal and external tax resources.

Mike began his professional career in Denver with Arthur Andersen & Co, where he focused on corporate clients. Mike left public accounting for five years to become the tax director for a multi-national public company headquartered in Denver. Mike then came back to public accounting and was a partner in the Denver office of a large international accounting firm where he focused on both investment partnerships and corporate clients.

Mike graduated from the University of Michigan with a Masters degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. He is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Colorado Society of CPAs.
