D. F. Alfredo García Prats is Professor of Tax Law and Jean Monnet Professor of European Union Law and Taxation, at the Faculty of Law, University of Valencia, Spain.

He studied law at the University of Valencia and prepared his PhD on Permanent Establishments, granted with extraordinary award at the Universities of London and Harvard, where he was 'Visiting Scholar' of the International Tax Program .

Besides being Professor of Tax Law at the University of Valencia, he has been visiting professor at the University of London (Institute for Advanced Legal Studies, Queen Mary and Westfield College, Queen Mary School of Law), Harvard (International Tax Program), Leiden, Bergamo, Leuven, Georgetown, Pantheon-Sorbonnem Vienna Economics, and Thomas Jefferson School of Law among others.

As a consultant, he has participated in the Ad Hoc Group of Experts on International Tax Cooperation of the Organization of United Nations as an Observer since 1995, and as a Consultant in 2003, actively participating in the update of the Model Convention 2001 UN . In 2008 he served as Senior Counsel in the Legal Department of the International Monetary Fund.

He focuses his research and consultancy work in the field of international taxation, tax planning, European Union tax law, transfer pricing, corporate tax and tax litigation.
