Author Biography

TaxMama® has decades of experience in many areas of taxation, with intimate knowledge of the vagaries of many, many industries.

Currently, the primary focus of my energies is as follows:

1) Provide free tax guidance to tax pros and the public, helping folks avoid getting into tax trouble at TaxMama.com
where there is also a free weekly tax podcast - which will return to a daily basis in 2015.

2) I am a Dow Jones journalist and columnist/blogger on several corporate and Accounting websites.

3) I teach a special series of courses to tax professionals, called the Tax Practice Series, at CPE Link, to teach tax pros to represent clients before the IRS (and their states). www.CPELink.com/TeamTaxMama

4) I teach the only comprehensive tax course online to those wanting to pass the IRS' Special Enrollment Examination (aka the Enrolled Agent Exam or EA exam). The course incorporates quizzing software from Gleim and Fast Forward Academy. But the heart of the course provides in-depth information about tax law, procedure, research, representation, ethics, client management and marketing. It's almost the equivalent of a masters in taxation - all compressed into 6 months. www.IRSExams.com

My past consists of a variety of jobs & occupations, ranging from 'hooker' for the police department (AKA dispatcher for the Official Police Garage), to headhunter (specializing in accounting & computer positions), to job creator (convincing employers to create part-time jobs for college students).
