Storm Extension – IRS Gives Extra Time To File Form 7004

We ran an article from John Dundon yesterday mentioning the deadline to file From 7004 was March 15th. If you have not been able to to file that form for an extension due to the storm, the IRS is deciding to grant you extra time.

Winter storm Stella has been terrorizing the East Coast of the United States and has affected many businesses. As per the IRS,

Business taxpayers who are unable to file their tax return by today’s due date (March 15, 2017) can request an automatic extension by filing Form 7004, available on IRS.gov, on or before March 20, 2017.  Form 7004 provides a six-month extension for returns filed by partnerships (Forms 1065 and 1065B) and S corporations (Forms 1120S).

Taxpayers who are eligible for this automatic extension should write something which shows that they were affected by WInter Storm Stella.
