Hello, I’m James McBrearty.

Now there is a scheme running at the moment by HMRC for people that are actually behind with their tax. It covers years up until 5th of April 2012 and what’s happening is if you have a tax return reminder, notice to complete a return and haven’t actually taken any action. They’re giving you a chance to actually get up to date with that.

Now there’s a short window left on the campaign, it runs until the 15th of October 2013. And in order to take advantage of that people will have to complete the outstanding tax returns and pay any tax or National Insurance that you buy there.

Now in return for this, HRMC will minimize any tax penalties for not submitting the returns. So it makes sense to do that. Now HMRC invited quite a number of people that meet this requirement and what’s going to happen is after the deadline they’re going to be pursuing those people more aggressively. So if you know anyone who is behind with their tax, now is an ideal opportunity to get up to date. And I’ve helped people who have been behind on several years returns.

It’s really making it straightforward as possible, so you can get up to date, pay the right amount of tax, and then not have to worry about things going forwards.

So if you know of anyone that would like some help with their tax and getting up to date. Please do put them in touch.
