A taxpayer called us desperately on the phone in tears this morning wanting to speak to a tax professional as she needed the payment to make her car and rent payments in May. Any insight you can provide that would help her understand why she did not receive her economic impact payment. Her income tax returns were filed online for2019,2020, and 2021.
You will appreciate knowing she said she can never get through to anyone at the IRS. I told her tax experts wait on the phones sometimes for hours to speak to someone at the IRS.
