Our internationally recognized client is searching for a tax lawyer whose primary responsibilities center around M&A transactions.
The Tax Counsel will advise on corporate business operations regarding U.S. tax consequences of domestic and international business operations including: international business restructurings, reorganizations and acquisitions and the integration of these transactions.
Responsibilities also include providing technical support for domestic and international tax audit and compliance issues and the review of finance data as it relates to these positions. The incumbent will also be required to remain current on U.S. and international tax legislation, developments and practices. Position requires legal experience in Subchapter C and international tax planning and quantifying tax costs and benefits, proving out the value of tax strategy on business transactions in a multinational corporate environment. The ability to provide outstanding judgement on a wide range of transactions and develop thoughtful strategies that manage risk is essential in this role.
The gravitas, experience and confidence to communicate with and counsel on sophisticated tax matters is important. The role requires the Tax Counsel to interface with internal finance and business groups and build strong relationships. Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills are required.
The role requires a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a law firm, big four firm or a sophisticated multinational corporation. A BS/BA, a JD law degree is required with a MST, LLM or CPA desirable. The incumbent will also be required to have a license to practice law.
