The tax law rewrite project does two things. firstly it consolidates different tax provisions that have been written in different years (and so were in different tax acts) together so that provisions covering the same area are brought together in one act eg all provisions relating to capital allowances are in the Capital Allowances Act or the tax law relating companies are in the Corporation Taxes Acts. Secondly the project aims to update the language in which the laws are written so that it is less arcane and easier to understand.
