Saudi national holding U.S. citizenship hired by Saudi government to serve as a diplomat in Canada. How do I file?

My spouse is a Saudi National who also holds U.S. citizenship. He has been hired by the Saudi Government to work in Canada as a Diplomat with full Diplomatic status. As a diplomat in Canada, he would be exempt from taxes during the duration of his job however, with him being a U.S. citizen...we aren't sure if we need to file and if so, how?

As a US Citizen, your spouse will have to file a US tax return showing all worldwide income. He may be eligible for a foreign income exclusion if he was out of the US for more than 330 days.
