Have you signed up at your state exchange? If your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) - last line on the first page of your tax return is under $40,000 your household qualifies assistance. The exchange is the only place to get assistance in paying your premium or qualify for a tax credit or getting FREE insurance. Any life changing event would be reported so your premium can be adjusted. OR do you get your insurance from an employer or on your own. As of 2016 your employer and insurance companies have to ask if you qualify for assistance so I would definitely sign up under the exchange and look at what is available to you. There are 100's of insurance companies competing for your business. You have a choice even if you qualify for free insurance and you can choose an HMO or PPO also.
