Is there any tax loophole that can reduce the amount I owe for 2016, or can I wait to file an amended in 2017 that might reduce it?
I obtained insurance through the marketplace in 2016. My daughter signed me up for it and I paid $383/mo and went to the Dr maybe twice the whole year. When I filled out my tax forms this past January, it came up that I owe $4k. My daughter had entered my income as my base because I never know what my commission will be each week/year. I made substantially more than what was listed on the insurance form. I changed my insurance company in January of this year and put in what I made last year and my question.. Is there any tax loophole that can reduce the amount I owe for 2016, or can I wait to file (I got an extension) an amended in 2017 that might reduce it?
