Initially responsible to lead the global direct tax function and subsequently the entire team of 20 professionals reporting to CFO. Demonstrated leadership across the group in a multitude of projects and company-wide initiatives delivering balanced tax value and risk and competitive ETR. Responsible for international tax structuring, incl. matching Japanese and UK CFC rules, IP transfers, M&A structuring, value chain restructuring and green field set up’s.
Shaped the entity and tax effectiveness and efficiency for the JTI group prior to and after it doubled in size from the Gallaher acquisition (largest ever Japanese acquisition at the time).
Responsible for group consolidated accounting tax content and co-responsible for tax charge management and consolidated reporting process oversight. Leading indirect tax management, continuous compliance optimization and risk management.
