Chase holds an LL.M (Master of Laws) and an advanced certificate of international taxation from Georgetown University in Washington D.C. He received his J.D. from the SMU Dedman School of law, where he graduated cum laude.

Although Chase maintains a diverse practice, he focuses primarily on tax controversy, tax planning, criminal and white-collar defense, and business litigation.

He is admitted to the State Bar of Texas, and is admitted to practice in the Northern District of Texas and the U.S. Tax Court. Prior to receiving his LL.M., Chase advised clients on matters before the Department of Labor and served as a litigator representing clients in business disputes, including matters relating to shareholder rights and trademark infringement.

Chase is a native Texan with roots going back to Texas's first settlers. When Chase is not practicing law, he enjoys spending time on new adventures with his wife and children.
