How To Sign Up For A Free Consumer Membership
  1. Click on Consumer Sign Up button in upper right hand corner of computer screen.
  2. Fill out Consumer Sign Up form on this page.
  3. Click on "I agree to TaxConnections Terms of Use and Privacy Policy."
  4. Click on "Set Up Account".
  5. You will recieve a confirmation Email shortly afterwards verifying your request.
  6. Click on the link that tells you to "Validate Your TaxConnections Membership".
  7. You will be brought back to TaxConnections Login page. Login with your email address and password.
How To Sign Up For A Tax Professional Membership
  1. Click on Tax Pro Sign Up button in the upper right hand corner of computer screen.
  2. You will see many benefits to listing your Tax Professional Profile on TaxConnections. Click on “Tax Professionals Sign Up Here” to complete the Tax Professional Sign Up form.
  3. Complete the Sign Up Form, click on "I agree to TaxConnections Terms of Use and Privacy Policy”, then Click on "Set Up Account".
  4. Go to your Email and Validate your membership.
  5. Click on the link in your Email that asks you to "Validate Your TaxConnections Membership".

  6. Once Your Membership is Validated, you will be on the Membership Payment Page. Complete the Membership Choices with payment information and continue to “Checkout”.
  7. You have completed the Membership Subscription Portion and are ready to be begin building your Tax Professional Profile.
  8. Next you will be guided to "Let’s Get Started" where you fill out your Tax Professional Profile Information.

  9. Complete your Tax Professional Profile and upload Your Photo. Do not upload company logos, pictures of your children, pets, etc. When this step is complete, you will appear on the Home Page of TaxConnections.com as a “Featured Professional”.
  10. We recommend you cut and paste from your resume or Linked In profile to save time.
  11. If you need to come back to finish later, make certain you click “Save”.
  12. Always remember your "Welcome Navigation Bar" at the top of the screen brings you back to “Edit Profile” to complete and enhance your Tax Professional Profile Page.

  13. Click on your "Welcome Navigation Bar" to see the Dropdown list of all Tools available to you. Review other Tutorials to further enhance your Tax Professional Profile Page.

How To Ask A Tax Question
  1. Login or Sign Up for membership if this is your first visit to our site.
  2. Click on "Ask Tax Questions" which is displayed across the Header of the site.
  3. You are now on the "Ask Tax Questions" landing page. Click on the "Submit Tax Question" button in the upper right hand corner of this page.
  4. Select the Country of the Tax Question, then Ask Tax Question in the text box.
  5. Then write your question in the designated box as indicated in the picture below. If you want to provide more details on the question, another box is provided for additional information.
  6. Enter the Topic of your Tax Question to give it a category/tag.

    a. If you are uncertain how to categorize your Topic, simply type any letter into the text box for a list to appear.

    b. If you do not see an appropriate category/tax for your Topic, you can create one when you click "Add More".

  7. Click on "I agree to TaxConnections Terms of Use and Privacy Policy"
  8. Click on "Submit Tax Question" and it will appear on the "Ask Tax Questions" landing page.
  9. You will be notified when a Tax Professional answers your tax question.
How To Find The Answers To Previously Asked Questions
  1. Click on "Ask Tax Questions" which is displayed across the Header of the site.
  2. On the left, you will see several search options, the first being "Refine Search." In this search bar, you may type in any keywords that pertain to the topic of your question.
  3. Our search engine will then find all the questions related to that keyword and bring up the results for you.

  4. If you are searching for questions specific to a certain country, you may use the "Refine by Location" search bar.
  5. If you want to search by a predetermined topic you may select one of our options under “Refine by Topic”
  6. If your topic is not shown, then click on "More Topics."
  7. This will bring you to a new window filled with all of our current topics. Here you can select the one that best matches your interest.
How To Find A Tax Professional
  1. Click on the "Find a Tax Professional" tab located on th top header.
  2. In the search bar, you may type in anything that pertains to what you are looking for in a tax professional.
  3. Example: Search Results for "Attorney"
How To Connect With A Tax Professional
  1. Register for a Free Consumer Membership or Login if you have previously registered.
  2. Go to "Find a Tax Professional" to search for a Tax Professional.
  3. Select a Tax Professional and go to their Tax Professional Profile Page.
  4. Click on the “Connect With Me” Button on their Tax Professional Profile Page.
  5. A Pop Up screen will appear that asks you to introduce yourself and write a message.
  6. Click on “Send Message” and wait for the Tax Professional to Accept you into their Tax Boardroom.
  7. Once in a Tax Professionals Tax Boardroom (Virtual Tax Office), you can communicate with them directly.
How To Build Your Book of Contacts
  1. Go to www.taxconnections.com. Click on "Login".
  2. This brings you to the "Sign In" page. Enter your Email Address and Password and click the blue Sign In button.
  3. You are now on the main landing page for Consumers. Notice the “Welcome Your Name” above the Header Bar.
  4. Now you need to start building your Contacts for your Book of Contacts.
  5. Go to “Find a Tax Professional” and enter your search criteria. You can search by Tax Expertise, Location, Title, Degrees, Certifications, etc. Find who you would like to connect with due to private questions you may have, questions to discuss in further detail, get more in-depth information about their blog post or just to add them to your book of contacts.
  6. Now that you have found the Tax Professional you want to connect with, click on “Connect With Me”.
  7. Complete the message information that will send a request to the Tax Professional.
  8. The Tax Professional will receive your request in their Tax Boardroom. You will receive a screen notice that your request has been sent.
  9. When the Tax Professional accepts your request, you will receive an "Alert". Click on the "See Alerts" in the "Welcome Your Name" dropdown menu and you will have notification that the Tax Professional is now connected to you and you may interact with them in the Tax Boardroom. You will also receive an Email with a link to enter their Tax Boardroom.
  10. Continue to Build your Book of Contacts to have your own Directory of Tax Professionals.
How To Recommend A Tax Professional
  1. Sign Up or Login if you are already a member of the site. If you are not a member you will be prompted to Sign Up.
  2. Enter the name of the Tax Professional into the "Find A Tax Professional" search field on the Home Page then click Search.
  3. Click on the Tax Professional's Summary Profile which takes you to their Full Profile page.


  4. When you are on the Tax Professional's Full Profile page, the "Recommend Me" button is in the upper right corner.
  5. Click on "Recommend Me" and a pop up screen will appear requesting you fill out this information.
  6. You can then provide your recommendation on this Tax Professional and submit it.
  7. Whenever you submit a recommendation an Email notification will be sent to the Tax Professional.
How To Vote And Comment On Tax Polls
  1. Click on the "Tax Polls" tab located on the top Header.
  2. Our most recent poll will be displayed for you to answer. Questions typically will address some sort of tax related query and you will be given multiple options to choose from.
  3. Select the choice you most agree with and click "Vote."
  4. Once you have voted, it will show you the results of all the votes thus far:
  5. Once you have voted, those that are logged into their accounts can write down any comments they may have regarding the subject. Simply write in the box and click "Post Comments."
  6. All comments written about that poll should then appear under this box for all to see.
How To Get Yourself Listed On Our Worldwide Directory
  1. Click on Tax Pro Sign Up button in the upper right hand corner of computer screen.
  2. You will see many benefits to listing your Tax Professional Profile on TaxConnections. Click on “Tax Professionals Sign Up Here” to complete the Tax Professional Sign Up form.
  3. Complete the Sign Up Form, click on "I agree to TaxConnections Terms of Use and Privacy Policy”, then Click on "Set Up Account".
  4. Go to your Email and Validate your membership.

How To Use Your Welcome Navigation Bar
  1. The "Welcome Your Name" Green Dropdown Navigation Bar is located at the top right hand corner of your screen.
  2. Click on your “Welcome Your Name” Green Dropdown Navigation Bar and a menu of options will appear.

  3. The "Welcome Your Name" Green Dropdown Navigation Bar provides you with valuable site navigation tools that include: View Profile, Edit Profile, Book of Contacts, Tax Boardroom, Tax Questions Asked, Tax Questions Answered, Inbox, and Account Settings.
How To View Your Profile
  1. Go to www.taxconnections.com. Click on "Login".
  2. This brings you to the "Sign In" page. Enter your Email Address and Password and click the blue Sign In button.
  3. You are now in an exclusive area for Tax Professionals. (Notice the Header Bar is Green.)

    To view your Profile, click on the “Welcome Your Name” Dropdown Navigation Bar above the Header Bar to see the dropdown menu. Click on “View Profile”.

  4. You are now viewing your Tax Professional Profile.
How To Edit Your Profile
  1. Go to www.taxconnections.com. Click on "Login".
  2. This brings you to the "Sign In" page. Enter your Email Address and Password and click the blue Sign In button.
  3. You are now in an exclusive area for Tax Professionals. (Notice the Header Bar is Green.)
  4. To Edit your Profile, click on “Welcome Your Name” Dropdown Navigation Bar to view the menu options available to Tax Professional Members.  Click on “Edit Profile”.

  5. This takes you to the categories page to edit your information. Click on the category for editing. In this example, Employment History.


  6. Update or Edit the information and Click on the blue “Save Changes” button.

How To Upload Your Tax Library On Your Profile Page
  1. Go to www.taxconnections.com. Click on "Login".
  2. This brings you to the “Sign In” page. Enter your Email Address and Password and click the blue "Sign In" button.
  3. You are now in an exclusive area for Tax Professionals.(Notice the Header Bar is Green.)

    To Access your Tax Boardroom, click on “Welcome Your Name” Dropdown Navigation Bar to view the menu options available to Tax Professional Members. Click on “Tax Boardroom”.

  4. You are now in your Tax Boardroom; your Virtual Tax Office and Message Center.
  5. Click on the "Upload Library Documents" Bar.

  6. A Pop Up Screen will appear that allows you to Upload Library Documents for visitors to view. Click on "Browse…" to get to the document for uploading then double click the document to attach it to your profile.(doc, docx, txt, xlsx, csv, ppt, pptx, and pdf only.)

  7. "Title Your Document" – Place the title for your document in the field box and click "Next".
  8. This brings you to the Visibility Option. You can choose to display your documents on your Tax Professional Profile Page for everyone to see, or in your Virtual Tax Office only (a.k.a., your Tax Boardroom). Special Note: If you want your documents to be viewed only by those individuals you "Accept" into your Tax Boardroom, please select "Tax Boardroom – Private View".

  9. It is important to select "Finish" to upload your document. You may have up to nine articles/documents/publications in your Tax Library.

How To Add Documents To Your Tax Library
  1. Tax Professional Members Login at www.taxconnections.com.
  2. This brings you to the “Sign In” page. Enter your Email Address and Password and click the blue Sign In button.
  3. 3) You are now in an exclusive area for Tax Professionals. (Notice the Header Bar is Green.)
  4. After Login go to “Welcome Your Name” Green Dropdown Navigation Bar in upper right corner of screen.
  5. Click on the Green Arrow on the Navigation Bar to display your options.
  6. Click “Tax Boardroom” which brings you to your Virtual Tax Office and Message Center.
  7. Click on “Upload Library Documents” Bar and a Pop Up Screen will appear that allows you to upload documents for visitors to view. You have an option to display your documents on your Tax Profile Page, your Tax Boardroom Page or both pages. We suggest both pages unless you want your documents to be viewed only by those individuals you screen through and allow into your Tax Boardroom. (doc, docx, txt, xlsx, csv, ppt, pptx, and pdf only)
  8. Once you have documents in your tax library, you can choose to edit or delete them by clicking on the “Edit/Delete Documents” button.
  9. This will take you to the “Publication Settings” window where you can control the settings on your documents.
How To Edit/Delete Documents In Your Tax Library
  1. Tax Professional Member Login at www.taxconnections.com.
  2. This brings you to the “Sign In” page. Enter your Email Address and Password and click the blue “Sign In” button.
  3. You are now in an exclusive area for Tax Professionals. (Notice the Header Bar is Green.)

    To Access your Tax Boardroom, click on “Welcome Your Name” Dropdown Navigation Bar to view the menu options available to Tax Professional Members. Click on “Tax Boardroom”.

  4. You are now in your Tax Boardroom; your Virtual Tax Office and Message Center.
  5. Click on the "Edit/Delete" Bar.
  6. A Pop Up Screen for “Publications Settings” will appear. You can edit the title by clicking in the box and renaming your publication, selecting the blue arrow dropdown to change the documents visibility (visible to Tax Boardroom visitors only, or viewed on your Tax Professional Profile Page), or select the “X” to delete the publication.

  7. It is important to select “Update” to save your changes. You may upload up to nine articles/documents/publications in your tax library.
How To Setup Your Tax Library To Be Viewed

There are Two View Options for your Tax Library:

  1. Tax Boardroom and Tax Professional Profile View: Whenever you upload documents to your Tax Professional Profile Page, Visitors view your Tax Library documents. (We also display the same documents in your Tax Boardroom – Private View.)
  2. Tax Boardroom – Private View: When you upload documents to your Tax Boardroom, only those visitors you screen through to your Tax Boardroom can view these documents.

How To Access And Use Your Book of Contacts
  1. Go to www.taxconnections.com. Click on "Login".
  2. This brings you to the "Sign In" page. Enter your Email Address and Password and click the blue Sign In button.
  3. You are now in an exclusive area for Tax Professionals. (Notice the Header Bar is Green.)

    To Access your Book of Contacts, click on “Welcome Your Name” above the Header Bar to see the dropdown menu. Click on “Book of Contacts”.
  4. Since you have been building your Book of Contacts, when you open your book, you will see an alphabetized list of every guest you have screened through to your Tax Boardroom.
  5. Click on a Contact and this will take you to their Tax Boardroom where you can communicate directly with this person.
  6. You can keep Boardroom Notes in the right column on your discussions and follow up tasks.
How To Build Your Book of Contacts
  1. Go to www.taxconnections.com. Click on "Login".
  2. This brings you to the "Sign In" page. Enter your Email Address and Password and click the blue Sign In button.
  3. You are now in an exclusive area for Tax Professionals. (Notice the Header Bar is Green.)
  4. Go to “Find a Tax Professional” and enter your search criteria. You can search by Tax Expertise, Location, Title, Degrees, Certifications, etc. Find who you would like to connect with due to similar backgrounds, questions to discuss in further detail, get more in-depth information about their blog post or just to add them to your book of contacts.
  5. Now that you have found the Tax Professional you want to connect with, click on “Connect With Me”.
  6. Complete the message information that will send a request to the Tax Professional.
  7. The Tax Professional will receive your request in their Tax Boardroom. They can "Accept" or "Pass" the request.
  8. When accepted, you will receive an “alert” stating that you are now both connected and are able to interact in your Tax Boardroom, as well as, be listed in your Book of Contacts.
  9. Continue to Build your Book of Contacts to have your own Directory of Tax Professionals that you have approved. You can also have approved “Consumers” appear in your Book of Contacts.
How To Upload Your Photo To Your Profile
  1. Go to www.taxconnections.com. Click on "Login".
  2. This brings you to the "Sign In" page. Enter your Email Address and Password and click the blue Sign In button.
  3. You are now in an exclusive area for Tax Professionals. (Notice the Header Bar is Green.)
  4. Click on “Welcome Your Name” above the Header Bar to see the dropdown menu. Click on “Edit Profile”.
  5. Select the Category “Upload A Picture”.
  6. Upload your Profile Picture by clicking the box next to “Browse” to search your computer for your picture. Format should be .jpg or png. “Double Click” on the picture to select it for your Profile. Do not upload company logos, pictures of your children, pets, etc.
  7. It allows you to “crop” your image. Click and stretch the corners of the box and grab the middle of your picture to select the placement you want.
  8. Click "Save Changes" to set this to your Profile.
  9. Click "View Profile" to see what Consumers and Tax Professionals will see as your Profile picture.
  10. If additional editing is needed, go back to “Edit Profile” in the "Welcome Your Name" menu bar. Scroll to the bottom to "Upload A Picture".
  11. You are now able to Re-crop or Delete the Photo.
How To Upload A Video To Your Profile
  1. Go to www.taxconnections.com. Click on "Login".
  2. This brings you to the "Sign In" page. Enter your Email Address and Password and click the blue Sign In button.
  3. You are now in an exclusive area for Tax Professionals. (Notice the Header Bar is Green.)
  4. Click on “Welcome Your Name” above the Header Bar to see the dropdown menu. Click on “Edit Profile”.
  5. This takes you to the categories page to edit your information. Scroll the categories and Click on “YouTube Video”.
  6. From this page, go to the YouTube link on your screen and continue to follow these instructions (1 through 5 below).
  7. Once you have pasted the YouTube code in the YouTube Video text field, select “Save Changes”.
  8. You will still be on the Profile Editing Page, scroll to the top and select “View Profile” to see the addition of your video.
How To Access Your Tax Boardroom
  1. Go to www.taxconnections.com. Click on "Login".
  2. This brings you to the "Sign In" page. Enter your Email Address and Password and click the blue Sign In button.
  3. You are now in an exclusive area for Tax Professionals. (Notice the Header Bar is Green.)
  4. Click on “Welcome Your Name” above the Header Bar to see the dropdown menu. Click on “Tax Boardroom”.
  5. You are now in the Tax Boardroom; your Virtual Tax Office and Message Center.
How To View All The Tax Questions Answered
  1. Login to your Tax Professional Account and click on your “Welcome Dropdown Navigation Bar.”
  2. Click "Tax Questions Answered" which brings you to a page where you can view every tax question you have answered.

How To Respond To Consumer Tax Questions
  1. Tax Professional Members can answer tax questions by selecting Ask Tax Questions (located in the Bar across the top of your screen) and click on any part of the text of the question.


    A screen will appear with the complete tax question including all answers submitted by other tax professionals on this tax question.
  2. You now have the opportunity to answer this specific tax question or ask for clarification from the individual who submitted this tax question. If you require further clarification, select "Request Clarification". A field is displayed that asks you to Clarify Your Tax Question. You then "Submit Request" to notify the question owner.
  3. "Submit Answer" button will display your answers to any tax question on the Ask Tax Questions landing page. You will also be recognized on the Ask Tax Questions landing page as a Leading Tax Advisor. Your answer to the tax questions will also appear on the TaxConnections Home Page as well as on your Tax Professional Profile page.
  4. The "Leave A Comment" button enables you to leave a comment on any answer. You may agree or disagree with another tax professional's answer by simply providing your point of view.
  5. When you discover an answer to a tax question that is useful, please mark it as "Useful". Whenever you mark an answer as "Useful" it will continue to rise to the top of the website for other visitors to view.
  6. If for any reason you change your mind about a Vote after you mark it as "Useful", you can remove it by selecting the "Remove Your Vote" button.
How To Change My Email Address For My Account
  1. Login into your Tax Professional Account and click on the “Welcome Your Name” Green Dropdown Navigation Bar.
  2. You will see a menu of options with "Account Settings" being the last one listed. Click on that and it will take you to the "Account Settings" page.

  3. On this page you will see an option to “Edit” your Email Address. Click on that and you will be given a place to type in your new Email Address and once you are done, click "Update."
How To Change Your Password
  1. Login into your Tax Professional account and click on the "Welcome Your Name" Green Dropdown Navigation Bar.
  2. You will see a menu of options with "Account Settings" being the last one listed. Click on that and it will take you to the "Account Settings" page.

  3. On this page you will see an option to "Edit" your Password. Click on that and you will be given a place to type in your current Password and your new one. Once you are done, click "Change Password" to finalize the change.
How To View Your Notifications
  1. TaxConnections sends a Notification whenever you have a message waiting for you. The square red box to the right of your "Welcome Your Name" Green Dropdown Navigation bar indicates the number of notifications you have waiting to be viewed.
  2. Click on the “Welcome Your Name” Green Dropdown Navigation bar to view your Notifications.
  3. Notifications will be indicated by a red number in each category you have a notification. This example shows 5 notifications for the "Tax Boardroom" and 13 alerts on new connections placed in your "Book of Contacts." Once you view your Notification, the number will disappear.

How To Post Your Event On TaxConnections
  1. Click on "Tax Events" tab located on th top header.
  2. Once you get on the page you should see the "Post Tax Event" button on the upper right side, click on that to begin the process.
  3. This will bring you to the form page where you fill out th details of your event. You must have the required information filled out in the blanks to proceed with the event form.
  4. As you go through the steps, you will notice the completion bar on the bottom will start to fill up and indicate how far along you are in completing the process.
  5. Once you reach the last page, check the box agreeing to the TaxConnections Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
  6. To finalize your event, click on "Create Event" at the bottom right.
How To Post A Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Course
  1. You must Login as a Tax Professional.  If you are not a Tax Professional, please Sign Up for a Free Consumer Membership.  Once you have your Consumer Membership, Email TaxConnections at:  support@taxconnections.com.  You may request a complimentary upgrade to a Tax Events Administrator to post your Organizations Continuing Professional Education Courses providing your company website in the Email.

  3. Go To TaxConnections.com and click on “Tax Events” located in the Header Bar.
  4.  

     


  5. On the Tax Events landing page, you will see “Post Tax Event” in the upper right hand corner.  Click on this button to Post your Continuing Professional Education Course.
  6.  

     


  7. Select the “Event Type” as “Course CPE” and complete the details of your Continuing Professional Education Course.
  8. Browse your computer for the Event Logo or Image for easy recognition on TaxConnections Tax Events Page.

  9. Add the Location of the Course to increase your attendance.

  10. Select the Date and Time of your Course.

  11. Provide your attendees with the Course Description and Benefits of taking the Course.

  12. Provide the Name, Title, Company, Photo and background/biography of your Course Professor/Educator/Trainer. 
  13. Complete the Contact Information for attendee communication.

  14. The final page is where you can promote any Course Credits and provide cost information for the Continuing Professional Education Course being offered.

     

  15. Once you have completed the last page, check the box agreeing to TaxConnections Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

  16. To finalize your Tax Event, click on “Create Event” at the bottom right.

 

 

How To Register To Blog On TaxConnections
  1. Go to www.taxconnections.com. Click on "Tax Blog".
  2. This brings you to the “Welcome to Worldwide Tax Blogs” page. Select “Register” in the Blogger Login Box in the column on the right and enter your Username and Email Address and Click on the “Register” button below.
  3. This will submit an email notice to TaxConnections. Once approved, you will receive an email from TaxConnections with your Password and Login Instructions.
How To Login And Setup Your Tax Blog Profile
  1. Go to www.taxconnections.com. Click on "Tax Blog".
  2. This brings you to the "Welcome to Worldwide Tax Blogs" page.
  3. In the top right column you will see “Blogger Login”. Enter your Username and Password and select Login.
  4. Once you Login, you are brought to the "Add New Post" Page. Now Click on “Profile” on the Menu Bar at the left of your screen.
  5. Most of the options have already been set for you. The Options that you should personalize are the photo of yourself (Avatar) and your biographical information. We suggest that you complete your biographical information and photo upload prior to publishing.
  6. Change Avatar: Upload your Profile Photo by clicking the box next to “Browse” to search your computer for your picture. Double Click on the picture and Select “Upload Image”. Do not upload company logos, pictures of your children, pets, etc.
  7. It allows you to "crop" your image. Click and stretch the corners of the box and grab the middle of your picture to select the placement you want. Click "Crop Image" to set this to your Profile.
  8. Biographical Information: This should be a brief paragraph of your background.
  9. Click “Update Profile” at the bottom of the Profile Page and you are now a Registered Blogger on TaxConnections.
  10. You are now ready to return to “Posts” to complete your Blog and Publish to TaxConnections Worldwide Tax Blogs.
How To Login And Post On Your Tax Blog
  1. Go to www.taxconnections.com. Click on "Tax Blog".
  2. This brings you to the "Welcome to Worldwide Tax Blogs" page.
  3. In the top right column you will see “Blogger Login”. Enter your Username and Password and select Login.
  4. You are brought to the "Add New Post" Page. Enter the Title of your Blog and submit your blog post.
  5. Click “Preview” to see what your post will actually look like. Once you have reviewed your post, Click “Publish”.
How To Recomend A Tax Professional
  1. Sign Up For a TaxConnections Free Consumer Membership.  If you are a member, you can simply Login.  www.taxconnections.com

  2. Enter the name of the Tax Professional you would like to recommend into the "Find A Tax Professional" search field.

  3. Click on a Tax Professional's Profile Page.

  4. When you are on the Tax Professional's Profile page, click the "Recommend Me" button to the right of the screen.

  5. When you click on the "Recommend Me" button, a pop up screen will appear that allows you to make your recommendation.  After you have filled out the form, select "Submit Recommendation".


  6. An Email notification is then sent to the Tax Professional you recommended to notify them of your recommendation.  See example below of how it will appear after you have submitted a recommendation.
