We collect information to build your tax professional profile and visibility in the market. This includes your name, address, telephone number, email address, questions asked and answered, blog posts, comments, education, experience, interests, purchases, etc.

We do not drop cookies or tracking codes on you. We do use Google Analytics and you should know they track everyone. Cookies are small data files that are stored on a User’s Computer.

We have third parties who advertise on our site and they may have tracking codes. We really limit them as much as possible as we have a big job protecting you from all these trackers.

Updating Your Listing Information

You can correct certain information by logging into your account and changing the information, and you may also delete certain information by closing your account. In addition, members may change certain information contained in their profiles. Please understand that in certain circumstances, we may not be able to remove or change certain information, even in the event an account is closed. For example, we may retain and continue to display any information you provided in connection with a question, answer, blog, endorsement, or client review.

TaxConnections endeavors to secure your Personal Information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure by putting in place reasonable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard the information we collect. For example, when we collect credit card information, we use a secure server with secure socket encryption(SSL) software and store credit card information through our secured financial provider.

No security measures are perfect or impenetrable. In fact, early in our development we consulted with a former lead of FBI internet security who advised us “There is no such thing as 100% internet security.” It is important to know we have developed multiple layers of security but no one can ever guarantee 100% security and privacy.

You are responsible for all use of your services by any person using your personal password. Please advise us immediately if your password has been used by another person.

You should also be aware that email is never secure. In fact, Google is scanning all your emails and subject titles. You should not send any confidential information to us for security reasons.
